Oscar award-winning short film
TWO DISTANT STRANGERS
Photography Exhibition

DECEMBER 20 - 21, 2021

Two Distant Strangers is a 2020 American short film written by Travon Free and directed by Free and Martin Desmond Roe.

Two Distant Strangers highlights the everyday threat faced by black people by quite literally having its protagonist Carter James (Joey Bada$$) brutally murdered by a police officer in a never ending time loop, with his personal choices proving irrelevant to his eventual final fate. The photography exhibition will premier original photos captured throughout the filming of the short film, as well as some exclusive never before seen photographs captured by the film’s director Travon Free. Gallery 90220 looks forward to giving the viewer an intimate look behind the lense that led not only to an award for Best Short Film by the African-American Film Critics Association, but also an Oscar for Best Live-Action Short Film by the Academy Awards in 2021. Photographs selected for this exclusive exhibition were selected by the film’s Director Travon Free.
